Dentures
At Madoc Dental Care we appreciate the importance of comfortable, well fitting dentures that look natural. We also understand the impact dentures can have on confidence, nutrition and over all well being. To help make the transition to dentures more predictable and smooth, we work closely with our dental lab to ensure the best individual treatment is provided.
Dentures are a removable appliance that is used to replace one or more missing teeth and supporting structures. Dentures are made of either acrylic or a combination of acrylic and metal.
Dentures are versatile and can be used either permanently or temporarily, be placed immediately after a tooth is removed or a number of weeks later, replace all teeth or a few teeth.
The benefits of well made dentures include:

- Preventing other teeth from moving
- Keeping a full facial appearance
Even if you have dentures, it is still very important to attend Madoc Dental Care at least once a year for the dentist to check the health of the tissues supporting the dentures and the rest of your mouth.

Crowns and Bridges
Crowns
Crowns are restorations that sit on top of a natural tooth, they aim to restore teeth back to its original shape and strength. Crowns are recommended when a tooth is fractured, had a root filling or is discoloured. Crowns come in all different materials and the dentist will help advise which is the best.
Completing a crown normally takes two visits, in the first visit the dentist will prepare the tooth for the crown by shaping the tooth, taking a mould of your tooth and placing a temporary crown to protect the prepared tooth. The second visit is to fit the crown that the lab has made especially to fit your tooth.
Bridges
Bridges sure used to replace one or more missing teeth. Bridges are excellent at restoring appearance, function and preventing other teeth moving into the gaps. Bridges are fixed into the mouth using the teeth either side for anchorage, therefore can not be removed for cleaning. To encourage longevity and health a complimentary Hygienest visit will be provided following placement of your bridge. Bridges come in a variety of materials and shades, that can be matched to the existing teeth to give a natural appearance.
Veneers
Veneers
Veneers are traditionally thin layers of Porcelain placed over the surfaces of teeth, similar to how a false nail sits on a nail. They are excellent at correcting minor irregularities in teeth such as a chip, an inset tooth, gaps, or discoloured teeth.
Veneers give a beautiful natural look to teeth, and are usually the treatment of choice for smile make overs.
The preparation and requirements of each case is different, you may require one or several veneers with some or no tooth removal to achieve the most aesthetic result.
Tooth Coloured Fillings
Tooth coloured fillings
At Madoc Dental Care the filling material of choice are natural tooth coloured fillings, as we appreciate the importance of a natural looking smile and appearance.
There is also an opportunity to replace existing silver fillings. As well as preventing that ‘grey’ colour when you smile, the tooth coloured fillings are healthier for your teeth as they preserve more of your natural tooth. The material can also be used to correct minor irregularities in front teeth, and mask discoloured teeth.
